All patients should see a dedicated respiratory physiotherapist to be taught chest clearance techniques as it is key to do chest clearance at least twice a day particularly in people with more severe bronchiectasis.
There are several chest clearance techniques available to view on the physiotherapy page.
The nurses and physiotherapists will also give you advice on exercise and diet – including advice on pulmonary rehabilitation if needed, which is a structured course, usually lasting about 6 weeks, designed to improve the functioning of your lungs through exercise and lifestyle change.
