National Guidelines

In the UK there have been national guidelines in the management of bronchiectasis – these have raised the awareness of bronchiectasis for GPs and hospital doctors and provide expert opinion on how the condition should be managed.

National Quality Standard

In the UK- the British Thoracic Society have developed 11 Quality Statements and these have been published July 2012. These are expert views on how bronchiectasis should be managed by your GP and in hospitals. These statements if adhered to will improve the care of patients throughout the UK.

Self Management Plan

The British Thoracic Society have created an example of a self management plan that can be modified locally for use. This will give patients more control on how to manage their condition. Download here – BTS self management plan.
